Hindu Engagement - October 4, 2009

Though we technically got engaged on July 13, Amit's family wanted to have an official engagement in their community. So we spent a Sunday evening with family and friends at a local mandir and got engaged, again!

Here are just a few pics I have on my computer. I'll put up some more when I can find the CD. Oops.
Getting bangled and getting ringed.
My family! My sister, Mom, and brother.                                            And then us saying our "thank you"s. Just a nice full view of the outfits.

Bachelorette in Montreal - September 25& 26, 2010

I am not into the typical wedding parties at all. I was quite happy without having a bachelorette and definitely did not want a bridal shower of any kind. But my sister would not let that happen So I agreed to something small. Me and my BMs are heading to Montreal for some fun! We couldn't do the whole weekend because SOMEONE'S (FI's) thunder-stealing cousin has ANOTHER wedding event on the Friday *grump*

Legal Ceremony at Toronto City Hall - October 16, 2010

A full month before we leave. Sooooo NOT happy about this. But we have Indian ceremonies every single weekend leading up to us leaving, so we had no other time to squeeze it in. The reason we are just legalizing it here before we go is because of cost. It is REALLY expensive to have a legal wedding in Costa Rica. We are saving about $600 by doing it here first. So we are gonna go to City Hall with the fam, do some paperwork, and then go out for a nice little dinner.

Bridal Shower at my Aunt's house - October 17, 2010

My sister is throwing this shower (with the help of my Mom & Aunt). It will be the one and only (thank god!). She wouldn't let me get away with out one. Since she is in charge of it I know it will be fun :)
